The Becky Smith Syndrome

A long time ago in the time known as junior high, a new student enrolled in our school. Her name was Becky Smith. Becky came from one of the schools in St. Cloud.

I remember my friends and I being as courteous as we could to the new girl, trying to make her feel welcome. She seemed nice at first, but it wasn't long before she got caught up in the social network that was eighth grade. You know, that crazy transition time between being kids and young adults.

Soon she was trying to jump over people to be more popular. Same games that kids play in high school, which seem so ridiculous to us much later when we've matured as adults. What we later learned was that she wasn't very intelligent, nor was she very popular with her last school either, mainly because she tried the same tactics at that school. Needless to say, ol' Becky didn't last the year at our school.

Lesson to be learned my friends. I personally know some people who sadly still haven't learned or grown out of these past mistakes. More later on as time permits!
